This is a public course – open to all for enrolments.
Drum Beat Academy offers a CATHSSETA accredited Barista course. This skills programme will enhance your skills as a Barista for work at a Coffee Shop, Restaurant, Guesthouse, Lodge or Hotel. Improve your barista skills and knowledge. Pour and brew coffee with our 3 day coffee theory and hands-on brewing experience.

Course Outline:
This programme is aligned to the following unit standards:

7793: Describe layout, services, and facilities of the organisation, NQF 2.

7800: Maintain health, hygiene, and a professional appearance, NQF 1.

7794: Communicate verbally, NQF 3.

7738: Clean and restock drinks machine/equipment (espresso grinder and espresso machine), NQF 2.

7734: Prepare and clear drink area for service, NQF 2.

7744: Provide an espresso drink service, NQF 3. Includes understanding espresso grinding, tamping, dosing, and pouring drinks; milk preparation, steaming, and pouring; and creating cappuccino art and using stencils.

7820: Operate a payment point and process payments.
Assessment:
Practical assessment and logbook to be completed.
Award:
Certificate of attendance to be awarded on the last day of training. CATHSSETA Statement of Result to be issued after completion of learner logbook (19 credits).
