TABLE ATTENDANT

The Table Attendant Skills Programme is a CATHSSETA accredited skills programme designed to equip learners with the essential service and customer care skills required in food and beverage environments. The programme covers health, hygiene and professional appearance; understanding the layout, services and facilities of the establishment; setting tables and folding napkins; taking and placing orders; serving food at the table; and providing buffet or carvery service.

Learners are also trained in preparing bills, handling payments, communicating effectively with customers, delivering quality customer service, and handling problems professionally. The programme combines theory and practical workplace-based learning to prepare learners for employment as table attendants in restaurants, hotels, lodges, and catering establishments.
